Returning to Habits

Recently, I've returned to some habits, both good and bad. I'll explain the impact of these in this blog post.
I have this problem of starting habits and not really sticking to them. Usually, it's because something has come up and it impacts my habits to the point where I can't continue with them for a while. Now, normal people would just pick the habit back up (I assume - I don't see myself as normal). In my case, I just forget about the habit and don't pick it back up until I remember about it. Even then, I don't always get back to it when I remember it. A bad example is practicing my music skills. I used to practice my instruments and musicality skills for about 30 minutes each a day. Now, I've dropped down to 15 minutes at most a day, for both of them.
The good news, I'm getting back to my good habits, like practicing my music skills. I've implemented ways to make sure I don't forget habits or ideas I have, and they are working pretty well. I've also included new habits and practices I want to try and I seem to be sticking to them pretty well. Those habits, I feel very good about.
The bad news, I started habits that are not healthy or helpful. I have started trying to engage my voice in my music, either through beatboxing or tiny vocals here and there. However, I have started drinking things that do not help your voice sound good. Also, I have not been eating healthy foods and instead eating fast or sugary foods. I'm trying to reduce and even eliminate some of the things I've been drinking and eating, like soda and ice cream. I've also had a bad sleep schedule and been on a computer more (even with glasses, a lot of blue light is bad for your eyes). Luckily, my bad habits are not self-destructive or dangerous ones and can be relatively easy to drop.
I've started slowly increasing my good habits time and decreasing my bad habits time. What I mean by that is I try to practice my good habits a bit more each day and try to reduce my bad habits a little bit each day. Hopefully I'll be clear of most of my bad habits in a couple months (I may not be able to eliminate all of them but I can reduce how often I engage in them) and my good habits will become second nature.
So, how does this impact what I've been working on? I'm focusing on my projects more now than I was when I first started. I have more ideas that I'm able to remember and I'm able to understand what I meant when I came up with an idea (that was not always the case). So, as of know, my good habits are helping more than my bad habits are hurting.
I hope this gives you a good feeling about my work and my progress with projects. I do plan on posting my first song, I just don't know when. But I will let you know when it is close.
Until the next post!
