Two blog posts in one month?! I know. Crazy, right? It gets even crazier.

So, you may have noticed the changes I made to the website. Why? Let's get into it.

I was looking at the website a couple weeks ago and realized that I didn't feel good emotionally or want to continue looking at the website. Full disclosure, I love the initial colors I chose, but I realized that while I may like them, they don't work for people who are looking at the website occasionally. That is because colors impact you more than you think. Here's a link to a study from Gale from 2004 that explains this better than I will: https://go.gale.com/ps/i.do?p=AONE&u=googlescholar&id=GALE|A123321897&v=2.1&it=r&sid=bookmark-AONE&asid=96b09980#:~:text=For%20instance%2C%20the%20color%20red,2002%3B%20Wexner%2C%201982)

There are studies that have shown there is a connection between your emotions and colors that you look at. Have you noticed that most of the fast food chains have similar color schemes: red, yellow, orange, etc.? That's because those colors stimulate you more than darker colors, like blue or green. You're more likely to go to a fast food restaurant that has those colors because your brain is stimulated by those colors.

Similarly, in art and media, colors are commonly used to emphasize something within a character. For example, red is commonly associated with anger, so a character wearing a red shirt may be seen as more antagonistic or hot-headed. By contrast, a character wearing blue can be seen as more level-headed or calm. If you go to an art show and look at most likely you feel joy looking at bright colors like Vincent Van Gogh's daisies and feel solemn looking at dark colors like Picasso's Blue Period work. See if the colors you see on people or in art influence how you feel.

Now, what does this have to do with my website? If you recall my website's colors before, they were black, red, white, dark grey - mostly neutral, dark colors. Neutral colors are usually fine, but dark colors evoke negative emotions, like sadness and emptiness. Not many people want to look at something that evokes those emotions. As my website had those colors, it would not be seen as an inviting website and people would avoid it. That being said, I didn't want to make my webpage a color like bright yellow because that doesn't do it for me. I still wanted it to have a neutral color tone so I was looking at colors and found that the more taupe, beige colors worked and were still in that neutral color family. I did make the header a different color, as I wanted some contrast between the header and the content on the pages.

Speaking of content, I am hoping to get music up on both my website and my YouTube and Instagram pages by the beginning of March. I will be focusing on the themed music first and posting those. I will also be posting more photos I am taking and some art ideas I have for my other projects. I am not planning on posting my final scripts here yet, but I will be updating on my writing more often than not. I may also be blogging more, but we will see.

Let me know what you think of the website's facelift and I can't wait to share my works with you all!
