New Year, New Goals

It's a new year, which means, new goals for me to try and achieve, but end up failing at.
Seriously, though, when I made my goals for this year, I made sure that they were at least achievable if I put in the effort and create positive habits. That is the problem for me: I set goals, start working on them, but am unable to develop or keep the habits and end up dropping them. So, for this post, I'm going to mention some of these goals as they relate to my projects along with my thought process behind them.
First goal: start posting my songs/scores before July. I have been busy coming up with other song/score ideas, like authors, books, comics (both books and strips), manga, etc. In a previous post (New Projects), I had stated what my music was going to be, which will be applied to the idea types above. If you noticed, a lot of the ideas are based off written or art mediums. I am going to be basing my music for characters and stories off those mediums, not any other adapted works of the ideas. Since I've been busy getting more ideas, I haven't really gone back to my first song I created. I actually think that will be a good thing because then, I can listen to it with fresh ears and maybe even improve it. So, keep an eye out for my music.
Second goal: work on my makeup skills. This may seem random but, in a previous post (Coming Up...), I mentioned that I would not be drawing my thumbnails anymore. I made that decisions because my artistic skills were not getting to the skill needed to draw what I was envisioning for my thumbnails. I didn't want the quality of my art to detract from the music, as I wanted the thumbnail to compliment the music. So, I came up with something that I think will work better and not have as steep a learning curve. I will be creating makeup looks based off the character or story of the music's basis and taking pictures of them. I will also be making props for some of the thumbnails and editing them to make the thumbnail and video images. I know the basics of photography and editing and have most of the photography programs and tools I need. I have to get some more photography equipment and work on my makeup skills but I think this will be better than drawing my pictures. I am excited and I can't wait to see how it all comes together.
Third goal: work on my editing skills. See above.
Fourth goals: finish researching some of my writing projects. I have some projects that I was researching but I kept jumping between projects and had things pop up in my life that cut into my research time. Part of the reason I want to finish the research for some projects is because I have some books for research that I don't plan on keeping after my projects are done (I have people interested in the books so I'm not just throwing them out). Another reason is my ideas for stories may change depending on what I find in my research, so I want to see where my stories go. So far, I have three projects I want to finish the research on, since those are the books I don't plan on keeping. I don't plan on getting more books for research and, since I am planning on going back to school, I will try to utilize the library there.
Fifth goal: finish research for blog posts and start posting. Finally, I am going to finish the research for my blog posts and posting them. The timeline for posts will be revealed later, as I am going to be staggering them with the music posts. At this point, I don't think I'll be posting both on the same day, as it feels like one will take from the other. I also have more music ideas than blog ideas, so I am trying to come up with a posting schedule that will compliment the two. I'm not sure if I'm going to create a new webpage with the schedule or a blog post, but the final result will be posted on my socials. So, keep an eye out for that update.
So, like I said in the beginning of this post, the goals are achievable, but I have to put in the effort to achieve them. I feel bad because I had all these ideas when I first started sharing my ideas on this website, but I didn't really get a lot of them done. I'm hoping that changes this year, and I want it to change this year. I also have other goals I want to achieve but they are more personal and may take more than a year to achieve. But the goals above are what I want to achieve this year, and I think I can.
That's it for now. See you all in the next post!
