If you have been following my Projects page, you may have noticed that I've added quite a bit to it. Let's dive in to what I have added.

First, I added some short films I am working on. One of them was inspired by reactions I had when I mentioned how I grieved my late cat, one of them is based on a story I read and the last one is based on my own personal experience with writer's block. I am mostly still trying to figure out where I am going with these stories but I think I'm gonna stick with them for now. I do have other stories I am writing but they are mostly for practice and not actual works I am going to try to get made.

Now, the music section... Yeah, there's a lot there under the Themed Music. They are either video game themed or comic book themed. I'm first going to breakdown my music production process regarding these songs then I'll get into why I chose what I chose.

First, these are not going to be carbon copies of what has already been created for those themes. So, I'm not going to take Legion's track from Dead by Daylight and copy it and say that I created it. I will also try to not go off any media that has been done on those themes, which means I'm going to try to steer clear of MCU/DCU or other media versions of characters I chose. I may nod to those versions but I am trying to be as original as possible when coming up with a character's score, for lack of a better word. The music is going be my own interpretation of the character's personality and story that I want reflected in it. So, please be open-minded to what I create for the character's I chose.

Now, onto my choices. I've been playing Phasmophobia and Dead by Daylight a lot recently, so they were my first ideas for these themed songs. What is great about those being my first themed music ideas is that there are so many characters or creatures with different stories, different personalities, but, especially in DBD's case, they have to fit in the same world. That is something will be challenging but I'm looking forward to trying it.

For the DBD music, I chose to do only the killers and survivors that are original to the game. While the other killers and survivors are iconic and it would be so cool to come up with my own versions of sounds and score for them, that is exactly why I chose not to do them. To come up with an original sound for an iconic character - survivor or killer - is a tricky balancing act that I don't think I can pull off right now. You have to pay homage to their movies yet come up with an original sound that isn't too far from the character but it still fits in the DBD world whilst also not ignoring any important sounds or features of their score and fit the whole story in a song that is about 5 to 6 minutes at most. It requires a level of creativity and skill that I don't believe I have yet. Will I try my hand at those characters down the line? Maybe. But not now.

For the comic book themed scores, I got a little bit excited. I grew up with DC and Marvel, but in a different way than most people did. I'm more familiar with Marvel heroes and DC villains than I am to a whole comic conglomerate. I also know that these characters also have lots of media associated with them, not just their cinematic universes. I remember watch the Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman, JLA, etc., cartoons as a kid. However, I am not going to be making my own score that is based on media interpretations. It will be associated with the comic stories and personalities of these character.

Now, there are a couple things you'll notice as you scroll down the list. One is the random DC villain that is Ragdoll. He is in there because he scared the shit out of me as a kid, so, naturally, I had to include him. The second is all the teams. I will be doing individual characters but I may do scores for the teams as well, depending on what my skill level is at and what I hear. Honestly, the teams grouping was just for organizing and keeping track of characters I had in there. Also, yes, I put Young Justice and Teen Titans together but that is because they share so many members. I honestly didn't want to leave a team out but not copy the same roster over. I will differentiate them if I do a score for the teams, but, for now, they are grouped together.

Long post this time but I hope that this gets you excited for what I come up with. The songs will be posted on my YouTube channel with snippets on my Instagram page. I am looking into practice songs, which are more contemporary songs that I will use to try to expand my creativity, but that is not going to be for a while.

Until next time!
