Coming Up...

Hello! It's been a bit and yet, a lot has happened behind the scenes. I'll break down what I've been working on in this blog post.

First, there will be new things being added to the Projects page, mainly in the Music section. Now, I may refine the Music section as I am going to be doing different types of music. Most of it will be themed music that I'll be creating in Ableton, but I may even upload a few loop station covers and some, what I call, Practice songs. Those are where I experiment with different sounds as a cover of a song. So, that will be revised, most likely.

Second, I am still working on my themed songs but I'm not sure if I am still going to be drawing the thumbnails and video icons for them. That is taking a lot of time (majority of the reason why I have not uploaded yet) and, to be frank, they're not good drawings. So I am exploring what else I will do for the thumbnail and video icons, because I don't want just a black screen for the music. That's not engaging for viewers and may even take them out of the experience.

Finally, I have been coming up with ideas for new blog posts! I have a list of ideas and I have started outlining some of them. Now, some of them are polarizing topics, but I am looking at them from a devil's advocate and neutral standpoint. This is because, for a lot of these topics, there is no right or wrong answer and the topics are very nuanced. My goal in writing on these topics is to make people think and experience a different viewpoint than their normal one. Now, the success of that will be determined by the approach of the reader. If the reader goes in with an open mind and a willingness to learn something new, then the post was successful. If the reader has a combative attitude towards the topic and believes that they know the most on the topic, however, then they may not be see the post as a success.

I'm not here to tell people what is right and what is wrong. The world isn't black and white; it has so many shades of gray, and I think that many people don't realize that. A lot of people are used to thinking, "If you are not X, then you are Y. If you are X, you are good and if you are Y, you are bad." I personally don't like that thought process and feel that it limits people's thinking and view of the world.

Now, do I know everything on the topics I will be writing about? Nope. But I will do my research on those I am not as familiar about and only mention personal experience if it is helpful. I don't want to make these topics about me or go, "Look at how smart I am on this topic I just learned about 5 minutes ago." I want to encourage people who have one view on a complex topic to explore the other views. Your own viewpoint doesn't need to change, but you can, at the very least, try to see why people think the way they do, regardless whether you agree or not.
